Welcome to Gaston Elementary School!
When you walk through the doors at Gaston Elementary School you will find not only a school, but a positive home for your child to learn and grow. At this school, each child is seen as an individual, staff are committed to their development through graduation and beyond, and everyone works together to share in both the struggles and the celebrations that come with the wonderful world of learning.
We have a wonderful PreK-6 program with approximately 297 students, 13 licensed teachers, and 10 instructional assistants. With the benefits of a PK-12 campus, our school offers not only core homeroom elementary instruction, but also has specialists in the K-6 for PE, band, technology and orchestra as well as a licensed counselor. We offer two preschool half-day sessions, five days a week with transportation to and from school to prepare our young students for school. This allows for seamless support systems in both nurturing and educating the unique needs of children from preschool through graduation.
We are a Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) school and use a Response to Intervention (RTI) framework to ensure academic and behavioral needs are met. We are committed to using current and research-based curriculum, participating in professional development for staff with the goal of enhancing practices and providing a welcoming and effective learning environment for students.
We love having parents come to visit and meet staff as well as volunteer both on campus and in the classrooms. Remember to complete a volunteer background check and always wear your visitor badge when on campus during school hours.
Looking forward to seeing you,
The GES Staff
